Open Knowledge Initiative

The Open Knowledge Initiative develops specifications that describe how the components of an educational software environment communicate with each other and with other enterprise systems.

Sharable Content Object Reference Model

The Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) aims to foster creation of reusable learning content as "instructional objects" within a common technical framework for computer and Web-based learning. SCORM describes that technical framework by providing a harmonized set of guidelines, specification and standards.

Learning Objects Metadata (LOM)

This standard will specify the syntax and semantics of Learning Object Metadata, defined as the attributes required to fully/adequately describe a Learning Object.
